7th October 2006 : Steel
This one was shot at the same time as yesterdays post, I wanted to experiment with processing on this one, a softer look. The original is sharp and has more detail and looks different in black and white, maybe I will prefer that one next week. Depends what tea I have been drinking I think....
Camera : Nikon D200
Lens : Good ol trusty Nikon 18-200VR
Focal Length : 105mm (157mm)
1/160sec F5.6
Exp Comp : -1/3
ISO : 100
Mode : Manual
Flash : Fired
VR Mode : Normal
I have incorporated a lightbox viewer into my comments now with some extra coding and adjustments to pixelpost. One of the reasons my comments box is slightly larger than needed. When I get around to dynamically resizing the comments browser onlick for all browsers without problems it will go back to the default size, until then I will put up with the increased size for the added function ;)
compare here! using the image to navigate between the shots. Right side is next, left side is previous, Cheers !!!

Great portrait!

Lovely portrait, a very unique shot. I cant tell if she is slightly over exposed or not?! Even so, excellent shot.

Very nice Paul - I love the over-saturated hard tones. I agree with your comment about the good ol trusty 18-200 - its a razor sharp beast - I'd like to see the other version at some point. (whos been slipping something in your tea by the way?;)

aw sh... it didn't save my text.
so here we go again:
looks a bit like a scene out of the movie the ring! I like the shine in her eye very much. Pretty cool I think is the change, I wouldn't believe it's such a young girl as you can see on the last picture of here!

I've been looking through your archives for the last 1/2 hour or so. I love your shots! Can't wait to see more. Cheers!

Excellent shot! I love the look in her eyes as well as the over-exposed treatment of the face ! Good work !
Regis on 20th October 2006 @ 5:47pm
Great texture in the hair. And i love how the face is a bit blurry.
Gabriel McIntosh on 24th October 2006 @ 6:01pm
How did you get this effect? the face heavily overexposed and the hair so underexposed, anyway I like it very much
federico87 on 24th October 2006 @ 10:18pm
I like both versions. The sharp one draws my attention in, whereas the soft one, with its blue tone, gives me the chill! :)
