25th September 2006 : Hipshot #01
Big thanks to Lynn and Rachel for organizing the meetup in Amsterdam, I had a great time. It was great meeting everyone and was fun to put faces to names or websites. This was a shot from the cafe we were in on sunday, shot from the hip (which I spent a great deal of the day doing and trying to get to grips with at different distances, while trying to look as though Im looking elsewhere). I prefered the faded dreamy processing for this one, just my choice. The VR really shows its worth sometimes, this was shot at 1/40th while walking past and was sharper than it looks before processing.
For those that know what two chocolates I took home, they were recieved with great warmth, I think they may be a bit of a mouthfull, but Im not going to be eating them.

:) You dirty old 'hipshot' man. Lovely processing here, really depicts the mood well. Looking forward to seeing others.

Hehe, I'm sure the chocs were appreciated!! ;-) Nice shot, the hipshots seemed to be the in thing (along with trying out Chrys's camera!!) this weekend, looks like you've mastered it well.

At first moment I thought you shot this pic in Poland in Warsaw because few days ago I took pic of front side of cafe/club with very similar name and mark "illy".
Funny situation :)
PS Thanks to light this shot looks a little misterious.
