9th September 2006 : Wreck
After a call from Dave at chromasia, I ventured out for some night shots after shooting a fireworks display on Blackpool Beach. What a night it ended up being. It seems our high tide calculations were incorrect by 1 hour (all tide times in GMT) and we ended up being stranded 200 meters out from the shore sat on top of a wrecked boat on the only two roofs that cleared the sea, which was only 3 feet beneath me. After waiting for the tide to go back out I finally got home about 4am.
There were some frantic calculations for rate of rise for the sea, just incase we needed to call the coast guard......
This shot is of one of the wrecks at Fleetwood I snapped before the sea came in. You will have seen a few of these over at chromasia.com

First time caller Paul. I've got to say that this image is fantastic and the story of you and David is really funny. I've just had a look at some of your previous posts and your work has really impressed, I will have a better look tomorrow. All the best Mal

love the shotoing stars in the back. they seem to add to the mystery of this place. i have been watching chrosmasia shots from here, and i guessing that even the air there must be riddled of intense energy. love the colors and the way the ship hull is almost golden...like a metal. really lovely. hope to see more. ;)

The star trails give a little feeling of movement and almost make it seem like the boat is about to topple over.
Wonderful long exposure - I am always a fan of images such as this. Nice work.

Very nice star trails. I love how "mystical" and inviting a night shot looks when done right and this is spot on. The color tones are quite nice as well.

luffly! Maybe a bit too close though, the boat takes up too much of the picture.
Tuan on 13th September 2006 @ 11:36am

You and david are really good,

paflechien on 13th September 2006 @ 5:38pm
Superlative shot. I really dig the colors - they add a lot to that old hulk.
Glad everything turned out okay and you and your equipment didn't get inundated!
