27th November 2005 : Moonlit
This is one from my archive that I reprocessed, a moonlit nightshot of the structure at St Annes Pier that I have shot before. This weekend should bring in the beginnings of what is supposed to be the coldest winter for 10 years. You watch, the snow will dodge where I live and fall elsewhere. Bring on the snow.

I love the way moonlight and modern white balance works out - gives a surreal touch to piccies. It's a bit like a set from Lord of the Rings IV - The Return to Waterworld

Great picture. What sort of exposure time did you give this?

sorry Tim, the Info hadnt come up in the pop-up. As you can now see I used a 200sec exposure.

It snowed where i live for about a minute the other day, i think thats our lot for this winter :-) This is really nice, i wouldnt have known it was a night shot though if you hadnt said so, weird.

It's really a moonlight shot? I can only trust seeing the 200sec exposure! Wonderful.

This is a really interesting structure (I recognise it from Chromasia shots!) and the exposure here is superb. Love the way the sand in the foreground leads to it through the milky shallows

I am totally amazed this is a moonlit shot. Makes it even better than when I did not realise that was the case. What is that thing (pier) though? Why is it not attached to the shore?
ROB on 29th November 2005 @ 8:55am
I believe there was a fire which destroyed the other parts of the pier. It is further than you think when you get out of the car :)

That *is* surreal. Great shot. Wonder what someone from another planet would think this was if they found this structure in several thousand years' time?! :-)

Nice shot. See this thing after a long time. It has been featured on your, John Washintons, and David's site quite often
