Nice composition, Paul. You should try this with a second (but softer) light from the right too, not enough to hide the shadow, but enough to bring out some of the detail of the shell on the right side. I think that would be pretty cool too. Very cool as is though

A snail is a gastropod, called so because it literally walks on its stomach. They have a single foot under their belly which they walk with.

Immediate picture envy. This is the kind of shot I look at and think, "Damn, I wish that were mine!" It's a great shot, the level of detail and control over lighting are superb.
